Jasper is an artificial intelligence tool that writes content based on guidelines like briefs, keywords, and titles.

You can use Surfer in Jasper to help improve contentwise what Jasper created to rank better in Google. How? You use Surfer's Content Editor tool inside Jasper to work on a content piece prepared for you.

From this article, you'll get to know the following:

What do you need to start using Surfer in Jasper?

To integrate Jasper with Surfer, you need the Jasper Boss Mode, and also, you need one of Surfer's paid subscriptions. If you are already a Jasper subscriber but don't have a SurferSEO subscription yet, we have prepared a special deal here!

How to integrate Jasper with Surfer?

  1. Make sure you are logged in to both – Jasper and Surfer (you don't need to have the same logins – browser cookies will do their magic).

  2. Turn on SEO mode in Jasper:

  3. Create a new or open an already created document and go to the SEO mode:

How to work with Surfer in Jasper?

The integration allows you to use one of our tools – Content Editor, directly inside your Jasper documents to improve the content prepared by Jasper contentwise.

Content Editor gives suggestions regarding your content structure, including terms to use, the number of words, paragraphs, and similar. All you need to do is to add the keyword, the location, and the crawler type (mobile/desktop) that you want to rank for.
Each content editor created costs you 1 credit (nevertheless, if you make it in Surfer or Jasper). The number of credits depends on your Surfer plan.

You can create a content editor to then work with the content prepared by Jasper in two ways:

  • Directly in Jasper
When you are in a Jasper document with SEO mode on, add the keyword, the location, and the browser type and hit the "Create Content Editor" button.

You then pick created content editor from the top of the query list (the same query list can be found directly in Surfer, too) and start optimizing what Jasper prepared for you:

  • in Surfer
You create the content editor in Surfer (the same way as in Jasper, so you choose the keyword, the location, and the browser type, then hit "Create Content Editor"):

And then it appears on the list in Jasper so that you can pick it to work with:

How to disconnect the content editor from the Jasper document?

Remember that once you have Surfer connected to Jasper, you can't get a shareable link to your Surfer Content Editor. Disconnect Surfer from Jasper and then create a shareable link in Surfer (standard one or Google document one) – your content editor will be ready to share.
also check: I can't see my content in Surfer! in the FAQ section below

You can disconnect the content editor from the Jasper document in both ways:

  • in Jasper

  • in Surfer – open the content editor from the list in Surfer » click the "Share" button on the right » click "Disconnect from Content Editor"

Then you can follow the instruction to create a shareable content editor link to share the editor with your coworkers/writers.

Troubleshooting

  1. Make sure you are logged in to both Surfer and Jasper.

  2. Check if you have any pop-up blocker enabled – if yes, you won't be able to use Surfer in Jasper properly.

  3. When it comes to browsers, we recommend using Chrome or Firefox. However, if you're using Brave browser, note that it has built-in pop-up shields, which won't let Jasper get to know that you're logged in.

  4. Please check if your 3rd party cookies are enabled and if you have any pop-up Chrome blocker extensions temporarily disabled.

Here's also explained how you can change cookies settings in mobile versions of the various browsers.

  5. A VPN can also cause blocking you from being able to see Surfer pop up as well. We recommend disabling it and checking if that helps.

  6. If you have any blockers mentioned above, try turning them off and refreshing Jasper to load Surfer (the Surfer module works like a pop up).
