Content Score is Surfer's way of grading content. Its update is focused on scoring transparency and consistency with the guidelines.

Match the length, the number of paragraphs, headings, and images count to get the high score in structure.

Make sure to use the exact keyword in H1 and recommended terms in subheadings.

Focus on including terms Surfer suggests in the content starting from the top of the list, it's prioritized by relevance.

Unified calculation

The constant iteration of guidelines caused discrepancies between guidelines and the score which are now gone for good. Follow guidelines and get 100 points in Content Score with confidence.

Old content score logic legacy period

Surfer will support Content Editors created before 11/06/2021 with the old Content Score calculations, rerun the Content Editor to get the new Content Score. We will keep it up for at least 30 days.
