If you’re on a legacy Surfer subscription plan, you can expect it to get updated to a current, supported version. This ensures your plan includes the newest features, stays fully supported, and continues to work with ongoing product updates.
No worries, your projects, data, and existing work will remain unchanged.
This guide explains what it means for your account and what to expect next.
On May 18, 2026.
You should have received an email about the migration with your account-specific details.
That email includes:
your new plan
your migration date
your new plan price
any temporary transition discount, if applicable
information on what to do if you want to migrate to a different plan
No.
Your existing data, projects, and work will stay in your account untouched. You do not need to move or save anything manually.
No.
If your account is included in the migration, your plan will update automatically.
Surfer Support Team can help you change the plan you want to migrate to. Contact us via chat or email ([email protected]) to get it done.
Explore other plans on our pricing page >>
Your new plan is selected based on your current account usage.
That includes:
the tools your team uses regularly
the level of usage
the number of member seats you need
whether your workflow depends on specific features
The goal is to place you on a plan that fully supports your current workflow.
Yes.
We understand that account usage can look different from the outside than it does in your day-to-day work. If something doesn’t seem right, we’ll gladly review it with you.
Please contact the Support Team to get it done. Either send an email to [email protected] or start a chat with us - select the chat button in the bottom-right corner of the Surfer Help Center.
Before moving forward, we recommend reviewing:
included features
usage limits
seats
billing type
Visit the pricing page to learn more >>
If you’re not sure which plan is the best fit, our team can help you compare your options.
It might.
Depending on your current plan and account usage, your new price may:
remain the same
go down
increase
The exact amount and effective date are included in the email you should have already received from us. Please find it in your Surfer account owner email box.
For some customers, if the move to a new plan would result in a noticeable price increase, a temporary transition discount will be applied automatically.
This discount is designed to make the change more gradual and give you time to adjust.
If your account qualifies, the details are in the email you should have already received from us, in your Surfer account owner email inbox.
For monthly subscriptions, the discounted transition period is 6 months, starting with the next renewal post-migration.
For yearly subscriptions, the transition support may be handled differently depending on your renewal timing. Your account-specific discount details have been shared via email.
You do not need to apply anything manually. If your account qualifies, the discount will be included automatically.
No.
Your billing cycle stays the same. Any pricing change and associated charge will take effect on your next renewal.
Your cancellation stays in place.
If your plan is scheduled to cancel, your account access will expire at the end of your billing period unless you renew it.
If your account is migrated before that date, you’ll gain access to the new plan until your subscription runs out.
Yes.
If your subscription is set to cancel and you decide to continue with Surfer, your migration email explains your situation and options in detail.
With the new Surfer pricing, add-ons have been absorbed into subscription plans (Rank Tracker is the exception) or replaced with plan-based limits, and are no longer available as standalone purchases.
Here’s what happens to specific add-ons:
Humanizer → now included in plans with AI features with 50 000 words/month limit
Auto-Optimize → built into Content Editor across all plans
AI credits → no longer a separate add-on; now Surfer Content Editors fall under a single limit, no matter if they were created with the help of AI or manually
AI Tracker → included in Standard and higher subscription plans
Rank Tracker →
still available as a standalone add-on, and can be purchased separately
Topical Map → included in Pro and higher subscription plans
SERP Analyzer → included in Peace of Mind and Enterprise plans
Audit → available in Pro and higher subscription plans
API add-on → API access is now available in Peace of Mind and Enterprise plans
If you previously used any of these add-ons (e.g., Audit, AI credits, or AI Tracker), your recommended plan will already include them, either with similar or higher limits.
Features availability and specific limits are available on the Surfer pricing page >>
If your workflow depends on supported integrations, your migrated plan will take that into account and keep the integration working.
If you have concerns about a specific integration, reach out to Support before your migration date, and we’ll help you verify it.
You will be migrated to the Peace of Mind plan (or higher) because API access is only available at that tier. If needed, you can request a downgrade to a lower plan, but please note that API access will be removed.
If you have questions about API access, custom workflows, or account-level setup, contact Support and we’ll review your case with you.
Existing discounts, coupons, and promotional pricing will no longer apply.
We understand this isn’t ideal, especially if your current pricing has been a key part of your plan. If the price increases significantly, you will receive a transition discount to help ease the change. Read more >>
Your migration email shows the exact price that will apply to your account, so you can review everything in advance and decide what works best for you.
Our Support Team will gladly answer any questions and switch the plan you’ll migrate to if you wish.
Yes.
You can switch to yearly billing. Please reach out to the Surfer Support Team to get it done.
An annual subscription is a great way to lower the effective monthly cost. Check out the full pricing to learn more >>
Your work and account data will stay in place, but the structure of your subscription may change.
That can include:
your plan name
included features
pricing
how some of the features are packaged in your subscription
If your account is affected, your migration email explains the most important changes. No worries, we made sure to make things as intuitive as possible for you. And our support team is always here to help!
