What should I do if my payment failed?

Check the steps below depending on whether it was your first purchase or a renewal.

💳 First-time purchase failed

If you’re trying to subscribe and your payment didn’t go through:

1. Double-check your card details

• Card number, expiry date, and CVV are correct

• The card supports online and international payments (Surfer charges in USD)

• You have enough funds or available limits - if there is VAT included, make sure there enough funds to cover the gross price

2. Try again or use another card

• Retry the payment from the checkout page

• Try again using another card

💡If it still fails, your bank might be blocking the payment. Ask them to allow international transactions or charges from SurferSEO.com. If that doesn’t help, reach out to [email protected] or via chat — we’ll help you finalize the payment.

🔁 Renewal payment failed

If your existing subscription payment didn’t go through — don’t worry! We’ll automatically retry the charge a few times before your plan becomes inactive.

Here’s what you can do in the meantime to make sure the next attempt succeeds:

1. Check your payment details

• Go to Settings → Billing → Billing Details and make sure your card is up to date. If not, update the card and wait for the next charge attempt.

2. Make sure your bank allows the charge

• Ask them to approve recurring or international payments from SurferSEO.com.

3. Keep funds available

• If your balance was low or your limit reached, top it up before the next retry.

Once the payment attempt goes through, your subscription will remain seamlessly active.
