With Collaboration, you can work with your teammates in one Content Editor draft, simultaneously. Say goodbye to the read-only mode whenever someone else opens up the article!Β 

Comments

One key development for Collaborative Content Editor drafts is the ability to add comments. Thanks to this, you can enhance teamwork and deliver feedback and ideas in within a draft you are working on as a team.

With comments, you can add your notes and freely discuss without immediately applying changes to the draft you are working on.

How to use Comments feature πŸ’¬

Simply, highlight a section or text to prompt the command menu and click on "Add comment." A text box will appear so you can write your ideas, suggestions, or feedback.

You can resolve, delete, or reply to a comment thread.

Collaborating with Comments is a great feature which enables a quick exchange of ideas with your co-writers and SEO teammates!

Here are very useful ways to maximize this feature:

  • You can use comments to give feedback on sections of your draft, to suggest edits that can enrich overall content, or to or ask questions about what is written from your writers.

  • When you're reviewing your drafts in Content Editor, comments can start conversations between teammates about certain revisions that can be applied to improve your content.

  • With the comment thread, you can also review the history of exchanges and decisions made while working on the article to trace how the development in your writing and optimization process.


FAQ

Does Collaboration work through shareable links?

Yes - Collaboration will work for anyone accessing the draft, regardless of whether through a shareable link or directly from the Surfer dashboard.

Is it included in my plan?

Collaboration is included in all Surfer plans without paying extra for it.

I have a draft created before this feature was released - will Collaboration work there?

It will only work for Editors created after the feature was released (full release: March 11). If your draft does not support collaboration, you will see "non-collaborative" information at the bottom.

Who can be tagged in a comment?

You can only tag your organization's members. To add a member to the organization, you must send them an invitation link, which can be found here. They must set up their own Surfer account but can join Surfer under your subscription.

Who can leave a comment?

Anyone with access to the Content Editor can leave a comment, regardless if they are a member of the organization.
