# How can I downgrade my plan?

Learn how to manage downgrades on your account

We understand that our users' needs and preferences may change over time, and we want to make it as easy as possible for you to manage your subscription at any time, at your own convenience. You can **downgrade your subscription plan directly from your dashboard, without needing** to reach out to our support team. Continue reading to learn more!

## Plan downgrades

Downgrades can be scheduled from the billing page by the **Organization owner** and **Organization admins**. Downgrades are automatically scheduled to take place at the end of your billing period.

### How to schedule a plan downgrade

1. Select your profile button at the top-right corner of the app, select **Settings**, then select [Your subscription](https://app.surferseo.com/settings/plan) on the left menu bar.

2. On the panel with your current plan, select the **Change plan** button.

3. You will be directed to the pricing page, where you can choose a new subscription plan.

4. After selecting your new choice, you can compare your current plan to the new one before making a final decision.

5. If all is good, proceed to downgrade your plan. On your billing page, you should see the upcoming downgrade labeled as **Pending**.

6. If you change your mind, you can simply click on the **Cancel request** button.

- Switching your subscription from an **annual plan** to a **monthly plan** is considered a downgrade, which will also take place **at the end of your billing period**.

- If you have any remaining subscription limits (for example, you haven’t reached your Content Editor limit), as your downgrade takes effect, they will not roll over to the next plan.

### How downgrades affect member seats and active members

When you downgrade your subscription to a lower plan with fewer organizational seats, **any excess members on the new plan will be deactivated**, and their status will be changed to **Inactive**. They won’t be able to operate on your Surfer account anymore.

However, you can remove active members and switch them with inactive members that you want to have access to your organization.

To do so:

1. Navigate to the [**People**](https://app.surferseo.com/workspace/1183342/settings/members) section in **Settings**.

2. Select the **ellipsis** button next to an active member that you’d like to remove from your organization. Select **Remove**.

3. Do the same to an inactive member that you’d like to enable on your account, but select **Activate** on the **ellipsis** drop-down menu instead.

### What happens to the add-ons on my account when I downgrade?

When you downgrade your subscription, your add-ons will remain on your account and renew on your renewal date.

Currently, the only supported add-on is [Rank Tracker](https://docs.surferseo.com/en/articles/10044845-rank-tracker.md).

If you’d like to unsubscribe from an add-on and can’t see the option in the [Your subscription](https://app.surferseo.com/settings/plan) settings section, please reach out to [**support@surferseo.com**](mailto:support@surferseo.com) for help.

### Can I cancel the add-ons on my account?

Yes! You can _schedule_ your add-ons to be removed from [Your subscription](https://app.surferseo.com/settings/plan) page. The cancellation will kick in by the end of the add-on billing cycle.
