How to get started with Grow Flow?

If you are an active Surfer subscriber, you should already see an invitation to Grow Flow on your dashboard. Simply click the “Sign in with Google” button and activate Grow Flow.

If you don't have an active subscription, please visit and sign up with Google.

Since this feature needs a connection to your Google Search Console, Surfer will ask you for all necessary permissions. If you experience any issues while trying to connect your GSC, check out this troubleshooting guide.

Once you connect your Google Search Console, this is what you’ll see:

Pick your domain, and Surfer will start the analysis. Be careful as once chosen domain can’t be changed to a different one. It might take a few minutes, so don’t be alarmed if it looks incomplete at first. You can grab a coffee while we save you hours of work :)

You'll then see a list of tasks to complete. Each task includes a short video tutorial, so you can hit the ground running.

Grow Flow will show you three different types of tasks:

#1 Add missing keywords.

Google is excellent at analyzing content, and it can rank your page for keywords you had no idea about. Surfer will identify those keywords for you so that you could use their power to your advantage.

#2 Add internal links.

Your domain changes as you add more content and create new subpages. Surfer will use the Google algorithm to identify opportunities for building contextual internal links.

#3 Write and publish an article.

With the last task, Surfer will automate building topical authority for your page based on identified content gaps and clustering methods.

After you complete all tasks, just watch the magic happen and come back in 7 days for more! Unfortunately, if you don’t have a subscription yet, tasks won’t update until you purchase one of our plans.

Frequently asked questions:

I don’t have access to Google Search Console. Can I still use Grow Flow?

Unfortunately, for Grow Flow, a Google Search Console connection is essential. However, you can still use our other features!

Do I have to pay extra to use Grow Flow?

No! Since Grow Flow is now in the testing phase, we won’t be charging anything extra for it.

Is Grow Flow unlimited?

For now, you can add only one domain per account.

Why don't I see other domains from my Google Search Console?

Surfer needs at least 100 impressions a day to be able to display the site.

If you are below this threshold, then we might not have enough meaningful data for Surfer to give results.

Why am I not getting weekly tasks?

Your website doesn't have enough impressions and visits for us to give suggestions. Also, your website isn't big enough in terms of structure and pages to lend themselves to making suggestions. The more articles you have, the more pages you have — the more tasks Grow Flow will give you. So keep writing to build your topical authority!

How long can I use Grow Flow?

If you have an active subscription, you will have access to Grow Flow for as long as your subscription stays active. Once you cancel your subscription, you won't get any suggestions for tasks after your cancellation date.
