Grow Flow relies on the connection with your Google Search Console, and it’s essential you allow Surfer to access the data in your GSC.

In this article, you will lear how to handle specific issues with your Grow Flow:

1. "Websites not found" message / I do not see the domain I want to add on the list

2. I only see X location on the list but I want to connect Y location

3. "Another user has created Grow Flow for this domain already" message

1. Websites not found message / I do not see the domain I want to add on the list

Please remember that you need to have your desired domain connected to the Google Search Console that has been integrated with your Surfer account. You can add multiple consoles here by clicking the Sing in with Google button.

If you see some domains and some are missing, please remember that you need to have your desired domain connected to one of your Google Search Consoles that have been integrated with your Surfer account.

If after connecting your Google Search Console, you see this message, most likely, you’re missing necessary permissions for Google Search Console.

Another possibility is that you do not have any property connected to your console yet. Here's a guide on how to connect your domain to your GSC.

If you can confirm that your domains are connected to your Google Search Consoles, next it would be the best to reconnect your Google Search Console to ensure you’ve given Surfer all the necessary permissions. Even if you had your Google Search Console connected previously, we recommend reconnecting it again to ensure the connection established is fresh.

  1. Click on the arrow next to the Surfer logo and choose “Google Search Console Integration” from the dropdown.

  2. You’ll then see a page with your Google account information.

  3. Select “Disconnect account” and use the “Sign in with Google” button to connect your Google Search Console again.

  4. Make sure to check the last box and give Surfer proper permissions.

5. Voilà! You should now be able to use Grow Flow without any problems :)

2. I only see X location on the list but I want to connect Y location

For high-impression projects, the locations list is auto-populated based on the countries where your domain is already making 100 impressions daily, so you will only see the locations that are already generating high traffic for your website!

For example: let's say that your domain is making around 520 impressions per day. 200 in Poland, 300 in the US, and 20 in Japan. In this case, on your list, you will only see Poland or the US as available markets to target as for those locations, the 100 impressions per day requirement is met.

If your domain has 100 impressions per day in general (i.e. ~20 impressions in 5 different countries), but not for one specific location, Surfer will pull only one location - the one that is making the most impressions for your page.

3. "Another user has created Grow Flow for this domain already" message

If you are seeing this error, most likely the domain you want to add has already been added to Grow Flow in the past - either on your own account or on a completely different one.
