# How does the Surfer trial work?

Try Surfer for 7 days — Pro access for free!

We want to give you an honest chance to see what Surfer can do.

**For 7 days, you get full access to our most popular plan — Pro — for free!**

### How the trial works

When you sign up for Surfer, you'll be asked to choose a subscription plan and enter your billing details at checkout.

After 7 days, your subscription automatically converts to the plan you selected at checkout, and your card is charged for the first billing period.

> **Warning:** **Important:** The trial does not cancel automatically. If you don’t cancel before the 7-day period ends, your chosen plan will begin, and your card will be charged.

### How to cancel the trial

1.  Log in to your Surfer account.
    
2.  Go to **Settings** > **Billing** > **Your subscription**.
    
3.  Click **Cancel subscription** in the bottom-right corner, then confirm.
    

### How can I skip the Trial and start a subscription

1.  Proceed with your trial setup normally - select the plan you’d like to switch to after the trial and confirm.
    

2.  While on the checkout/order summary page, instead of selecting the “Start my trial” button, select “Skip trial and buy xyz now”:
    

### FAQ

**I can’t start a trial.**

The trial is available to new accounts only. If the card you used was previously registered on a Surfer account, you won’t be eligible. Contact us at [support@surferseo.com](mailto:support@surferseo.com) or via live chat if you think this is an error.

**I used Surfer before. Can I still get a trial?**

The trial is for new accounts. If you’ve previously had a Surfer subscription and want to give us another go, please reach out at [support@surferseo.com](mailto:support@surferseo.com) or via live chat.

**Will I be charged automatically at the end of the trial?**

Yes — if you don’t cancel before the 7 days are up, your chosen plan will begin, and your card will be charged. Set a reminder if you’re on the fence.

**Can I change the plan I’ll convert to after the trial?**

Yes! Please contact us at [support@surferseo.com](mailto:support@surferseo.com) or via live chat, and we will handle this for you.

**What happens after I cancel?**

You can still use the trial period to the end.

The end of the trial will no longer trigger the subscription, and the related charge will be prevented. Instead, your account will expire, and you will lose access to any stored data.
