Quick summary of features released in October and upcoming products

Updated this week

FACT: Search engines like Google prioritize content that demonstrates deep knowledge on a topic.

What do I mean by ‘deep knowledge’? 👀 It's not just about optimizing for a few choice keywords. You need to demonstrate *actual* expertise on a subject by creating comprehensive, well-researched content that covers core concepts, nuances, and advanced aspects.

Sounds exhausting, ngl. But, Surfer can help make it… err… less exhausting.

And if you've missed Jakub Sadowski, our Product Manager explaining how to effectively build topical authority with Topical Map, here's a recording you should

New in Humanizer: Custom tone of voice

You can now "teach" our AI Humanizer how to write in your own tone of voice! 🎉

We're rolling this update gradually, so if you can't see it yet, don't be alarmed. 😉

PS. Once you'll be happy with the results (don't forget to leave feedback once the update reaches you!), we'll move on to integrating Humanizer and Surfer AI (along with adding custom voice to Surfer AI). It will take some time but your patience will be rewarded 🤞

New in Content Editor: AI meta titles and descriptions ✨

These suggestions are fully editable and easy to copy-paste into any CMS, making your publishing process smoother than ever. 👌

As with every other update, if you can't see it yet in your Content Editor, give it a few days for the update to reach you (it will, I promise!).

New in Content Editor: Stemming and lemmatization ✏️

Stemming and lemmatization are now available in all Surfer Content Editors! These powerful techniques make your terms list easier to manage—shorter and simpler—without reducing your Content Score or ranking potential.

What’s the difference?

Stemming reduces words to their root form. For example, “buy,” “buying,” and “bought” all become “buy.”

Lemmatization goes a step further, considering the word’s meaning and part of speech to map words like “buying,” “bought,” and “buys” back to “buy.”

This update is rolling out gradually, so if you don’t see it yet, hang tight—it’s coming to you soon!

What’s coming next? 👇

Topics: competitive content analysis in Content Editor

This feature will automatically compares your content to the top-ranking pages in search results and finds facts and topics that you’re not covering yet. Then, based on the gaps found, it provides you with actionable suggestions to help you add missing topics and expand underdeveloped sections to cover more ground and improve your topical coverage with data-driven insights.

And the best part? Automated research will make both your writing and optimizing process so much faster and more effective! ❤️ Watch your Surfer dashboard for updates in November. 😌
